BLOG TOUR: Quintessentially Q – Pepper Winters + Review, giveaway & teasers!

Released: December 13th, 2013

“All my life, I battled with the knowledge I was twisted… fucked up to want something so deliciously dark—wrong on so many levels. But then slave fifty-eight entered my world. Hissing, fighting, with a core of iron, she showed me an existence where two wrongs make a right."

Tess is Q’s completely. Q is Tess’s irrevocably. But now, they must learn the boundaries of their unconventional relationship, while Tess seeks vengeance on the men who sold her. Q made a blood-oath to deliver their corpses at Tess’s feet, and that’s just what he’ll do.

He may be a monster, but he’s Tess’s monster.
"You'll have to face your past and move on if you want to have any chance of happiness."

My heart has been ripped out of my chest, shredded to pieces, hammered to bits and pummeled to oblivion. This book was terrifyingly dark but exhilarating at the same time. A love story about two beautifully broken people as they journey deeper into their relationship and overcome even more obstacles that threaten to break them apart. Breathtaking, heart-wrenching, and crazy fantastic.

Dear God. My feelings?

Not. A. Single. Fucking. Word.

The novel started out so peacefully. Tess was back with Q and they lived in this happy little bubble. Well, not so happy. But they were together.

Q was everything to Tess. Her master. Her lover. Her life. She was his esclave.
Q wasn't just my master in the bedroom. He was the master of my heart.
And the same goes for Q. He couldn't live without Tess. She was it for him.
I may be a controlling bastard, but the moment Tess stalked into my life I lost my balls to her.
But damn. In this novel, we see sides to Q we didn't see in Tears of Tess. Whereas there he seemed so masculine and in control, we see the vulnerability and fragility of his character here. He was terrified. Scared shitless that Tess would leave him and find someone better. The love he possessed was immensely profound and overpowering. It conquered him completely.
I dragged Tess into my lap, wrapping my arms tight around her. In my embrace, I held the moon and stars and planets. I held my future fucking happiness, and I'd kill myself if I ever fucked it up.
When we approached the 'hook' point where the story picks up, I couldn't put it down. I kept going and going and going. It took me like 3 hours to finish this book, which was pretty fast for me considering its length.

My heart broke as we venture through both's perspectives. Tess, as she is broken and tortured both mentally and physically, seeking for salvation. Q, in his desperation to seek his lifeline and the guilt that consumes him.

The last part absolutely tore me apart. I cried and wept and sobbed into my pillow. I will not spoil it. It was so heart-breaking and it was like a fucking punch to the gut.

But I have one thing to say to Pepper Winters, as I quote from QQ:
"Je vous remercie du fond de mon cœur."
Translation: Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you for creating such a dangerously dark, yet incredibly beautiful love story. Thank you for giving us amazing characters to love and cherish.

I look forward to Twisted Together.

OH! Before I forget. Let me just say that I absolutely LOOOOVE Suzette, Frederick and Franco ;) fantastic supporting characters!

REVIEW: The Unidentified Redhead – Alice Clayton

Released: February 16th, 2010

The first in USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton’s Redhead series is a playful and erotic romance between an aspiring actress and Hollywood’s hottest new leading man.

When Grace Sheridan returns to Los Angeles to become a working actress, it’s a second shot at a life-long dream. With some help from her best-friend agent, will that dream become a reality—or at thirty-three, has Grace missed her chance at the big time? And when an unexpected sizzling romance with Jack Hamilton, the entertainment industry's newest “it” boy, threatens to shine an uncomfortable spotlight on her life, how will that affect her career…and his?

Funny, borderline neurotic Grace is perfect in her imperfections, and the sexual chemistry between her and charming yet blissfully unaware Jack is off the charts. With laugh-out-loud dialogue and a super-steamy romance that will get your heart racing, sneaking around in L.A. and dodging the paparazzi has never been so fun.

"Oh, God, the British have landed, haven't they?"
**COPY PROVIDED BY AUTHOR**

Holy shit. This book was funny, light and just so good! I loved how easygoing their relationship was and how it was one of those best-friends-turned-lovers kind of thing. Not to mention the sex. SUPER HOT! The characters were freaking fantastic and the plotline was great.

I have to honestly admit that, after reading Wallbanger, I wasn't too enamored by this story. Enamored as in I didn't laugh my ass off as much. Wallbanger made me piss my pants and cry and laugh and God, just so many things. But this one was fantastic actually.

The story itself was simple. About two people climbing up the ladder of stardom and they try to overcome the pressures of the spotlight of the Hollywood life.

But damn, I'd be lying if I said I didn't crack up at any of the jokes.

He pushed me back up against the door, slamming me against the doorbell. I heard it ring out.
"Coming!" I heard Holly say as she clicked across the floor to the front door.
"Not quite, but she’s close." He chuckled, removing his hand and leaving me breathless and rosy cheeked.
Whew, now that's hot AND funny.

Such a sweet love story and awelrkawkerl I have no words. SO FREAKING CUTE.

But mm-mm, I'd tap Jack Hamilton. That sweet British ass.

Minor Faults:
  • I guess I was expecting too much that I hoped I'd laugh more.

The Redhead Plays Her Hand (Redhead #3) ❊ 4.5 APPLES!!!
Wallbanger  5 APPLES!!!

Alice Clayton is a novelist with an unholy love for her KitchenAid mixer. Making her home in St Louis, she enjoys gardening but not weeding, baking but not cleaning up afterwards, and is trying desperately to get her long time boyfriend to make her an honest woman. Hi sweetie!!

After working for years in the cosmetics industry as a makeup artist, esthetician, and national educator for a major cosmetics company, Alice picked up a pen (read laptop) for the first time at 33 to begin a new career, writer. Combining her love of storytelling with a sense of silly, she was shocked and awed to be nominated for a Goodreads Author award in 2010 for her debut novels, The Redhead Series.

Alice has penned three novels, The Unidentified Redhead,The Redhead Revealed, and coming soon in November 2012, Wallbanger. She thinks you should purchase them immediately. She’s not kidding, not even a little bit. Everyone needs some comedic erotica in their lives. She is hard at work on the third book in The Redhead Series, set to release in Spring of 2013, continuing the saucy and sexual escapades of everyone’s favorite couple, Jack and Grace.

Additionally, Alice loves spending time with her besties on Not Your Mother's Podcast, make sure you check them out at notyourmotherspodcast.com or over on iTunes. 3 women rushing towards their forties still acting like teenagers. A saucy little mix of sex, love, relationships, pop cultural, celebrity gossip and All Things Jake Ryan.

Alice enjoys pickles, Bloody Mary’s, 8 hours of sleep, and a good pounding.

Finally Alice would also like all her readers and listeners to help her convince Mt. Alice that the only other thing that would make her truly happy is finally bringing home a Bernese Mountain Dog. She is totally serious. And done talking about herself in the third person…

BLOG TOUR: The Redhead Plays Her Hand – Alice Clayton + Review & giveaway!

Released: December 13th, 2013

The third sexy novel in USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton’s playful and erotic Redhead series continues the sizzling romance between actress Grace Sheridan and Hollywood’s hottest leading man Jack Hamilton.

Grace has landed the lead in a new TV series—but when the director asks her to lose fifteen pounds, she goes public with her weight struggles and suddenly develops a huge fan club who support her right to have curves. But between that and the public’s continuing fascination with her “are they or aren’t they” relationship with Jack, Grace begins to wonder if anyone’s really interested in her because of her upcoming TV series, or if it’s all speculation about the size of her ass and her bedroom partner.

Meanwhile, Jack is voted the Sexiest Man Alive and becomes a little too enamored with the party-hard lifestyle. Grace vows to give him the space he needs to find himself, but then he begins to spiral down from lovable Brit to Hollywood brat. People are talking, but are Jack and Grace? Her career is on the rise, and his continues into the stratosphere, but will she be able to catch him if he falls? Will they ever be able to just be a couple who can hold hands when they walk down the street?
"And in that moment, I realized how out of control everything had become."
**COPY PROVIDED BY AUTHOR**

My God, my God, my God. One freaking word: HOLY-SHIT-I-THINK-I-TURNED-INTO-A-PUDDLE. This book was hilarious, beautifully written and the ultimate representation of the pressures of hollywood life on young stars. It was such an accurate portrayal and such a romantic and frustrating love story to follow. Fantastic work!

We can really see the development in characters here compared to the previous books.

Grace. I continue to love Grace inconsiderably. I have to admit that she isn't as funny as people make her out to be but I love how she stays true to herself and that she actually works for what she wants. She wants to have her own TV show? She'll work her ass off for it!

But, in the end, she realizes that it all comes down to her decisions. She can't change for people if she doesn't want to. If she doesn't believe in the change.
Big, small, curvy, or bony, beauty was beauty. I was healthy. I was exactly the size I was supposed to be, and that was it.
Let me just…

God bless you woman just God bless.

I think this is the main problem with society today and Alice Clayton brings this up honestly and bravely in her novel. With all the pressure that society and movies and stars put on us, everyone becomes insecure and closed-off with who they are.

But here, Grace challenges us and dares us to be exactly who we are and that is simply inspirational.

On the other hand, Jack is the polar opposite. While Grace doesn't fall into the shoves and harsh comments of social media, Jack succumbs to the temptations and becomes weighed down by this spotlight.

He's the representation of musicians, celebrities, actors, etc. out there who have fallen in a downward spiral. But thank goodness he brought himself up again in the end. I was getting pissed off at him and actually rooting for Grace to dump his sorry ass.

Generally, a fantastic, amazing read! Loved it!

Sneaking Candy by Lisa Burstein

All I ever wanted was to make a name for myself as Candice Salinas, creative writing grad student at the University of Miami. Of course, secretly I already have made a name for myself: as Candy Sloane, self-published erotic romance writer. Though thrilled that my books are selling and I have actual fans, if anyone at UM found out, I could lose my scholarship…and the respect of my faculty advisor, grade-A-asshole Professor Dylan.

Enter James Walker, super-hot local barista and—surprise!—my student. Even though I know a relationship is totally off-limits, I can’t stop myself from sneaking around with James, taking a few cues from my own erotic writing…if you catch my drift. Candy’s showing her stripes for the first time in my real life, and I’ve never had so much fun. But when the sugar high fades, can my secrets stay under wraps?

Today, I have the lovely Reese Monroe here for an interview! Check it out below:

What was your biggest influence writing this book?
I think the biggest influence for me writing this book was the concept of never knowing what life is going to throw at you. Over the past few years, life’s thrown some serious, life altering, curveballs in my direction. Some were great and some not so great. But the fact that things can change on a dime and you have to find a way to get through it—while keeping your sanity—is huge in this story. I’m a big believer that when you’re struggling or hurting, you grow the most. You walk away from the struggle different—better.
Which character do you relate to the most? And why?
I’d have to say Sadie. I’m not an orphan or anything, but I’ve sure been an underdog like her. I think we all have at one point in our lives, right? But with Sadie, I love her strength and passion to work through all the odds stacked against her. I want to be like her!!
I know exactly what you mean! If you didn't become a writer, what would've you done?
I would have loved to be a criminal psychologist or something along that line. When I first saw Silence of the Lambs, I said I wanted to be like Jodi Foster’s character. Yeah, well, that didn’t work out. [smiles]  If wasn’t writing and could pick a dream job, I’d say working in a bookstore. Oh wait, I DO work in a bookstore. I totally live the dream life! I get to work in a bookstore AND I get to write books for a living! Life is good!!
Now you're just making me jealous hahah. Lastly, do you have any tips for other writers out there?
Keep on writing. No matter what, keep on writing. No words are a waste. Even if they don’t get published, keep writing. It’ll help hone your skill. Get your creativity flowing. I’ve written 32 novels and I know plenty won’t see the light of day, but I don’t regret any word I’ve written. They all help me grow.
A second tip would be to keep a teachable spirit. Always heed advice from those who’ve been around longer than you in your writing career. Take it all into consideration and learn from their writing career!
