November 17, 2013...
In the past, I've always been given everything I've wanted, but nothing that I truly needed. I've experienced a lot of things in my twenty-five years, everything except the one thing I want. It's the one thing that can’t be bought. It can't even be taken, it has to be given. And nobody has ever given it to me, not really anyway.
Not until him.
Music is the center of both our lives, but as he found his place in it, I lost my way. He soared, while I spiraled down a destructive path.
I lost myself in more ways than I can count.
The ironic thing is that I didn’t realize how lost I was until he found me.
And now that he has, I have to wonder if he'll stay around long enough to catch me.
"You can be in love with someone and comfortable with them and it won't make a difference if life throws obstacles at you that you can't push through together."

Honestly, I really liked Catch Me because it was simple and it was the no-bullshit kind of book. I liked Brooklyn first of all.
She's the girl who had it all. Or seems to have it all. Her father owns Harmon Records, one of the most – or possibly the most – successful companies ever. Then there's also her mother who was an egomaniac and a dumb bitch. God, I just hate her so much. Although her father did neglect her, but, at least, he didn't pressure Brooklyn until she broke down into depression like her mother did.
Brooklyn went through so much during her younger years. Then she was introduced to Shea, the new, up and coming rockstar. Well, now he was already so goddamn famous. And he introduced her to a… not-so-safe lifestyle. Everything just spiraled downwards from there.
Now, after years of hard-work and getting herself back together, she once again has to go back and prove her worth to her father. So she flies to New York and works with her brother, Hendrix (who I found could be a pompous asshole at times).
Enters Nick Wilde. The hot producer hiding behind the name "Shadow" with a secret of his own. Shea introduces them both, not knowing that the sexual tension was practically bursting between them.
Although, I must admit, it seemed more like a "they can't differentiate between love and lust" kind of thing at first, their chemistry was evident after the development of their relationship so I'm definitely grateful for that.
Because, what Brooklyn feels for Nick, is different from what she's felt for any guy she's dated before – even Shea.
That's how this kiss makes me feel. Like i'm freefalling, like I'm dying, like I'm breathing for the first time. Like i'm high on ecstasy and a million expert hands are massaging me. This kiss is my life.Hot damn or what?!
But this was it. I couldn't really tell. This was towards the middle but, it seemed more like Brooklyn admired him more for his looks. Sure he was talented and dedicated to what he was doing but she kept noticing his physical features instead.
But Nick [swoons] this man has a way with words, I'll tell you that.
"And most of all, because I'm selfish and I don't want you to make anybody feel the way you make me feel. Because I want those big green eyes to only light up when you look at me. Because. I. Need. You."
But, God, they really were adorable towards the end. When all the drama started to unfold, they were there for each other. They were each other's pillars. TOO GODDAMN SWEET!!!
Brooklyn: “Are you sure everything will be okay?”Nick: “No, babe, I’m not, but that’s the beauty of life. The only thing I’m sure about is us.”
MY RATING:
4 APPLES!!!!!
Claire Contreras graduated with her BA in Psychology from Florida International University. She lives in Miami, Florida with her husband, two little boys, and three dogs.
Her favorite past times are: daydreaming, writing, and reading.
She has been described as a random, sarcastic, crazy girl with no filter.
Life is short, and it’s more bitter than sweet, so she tries to smile as often as her face allows. She enjoys stories with happy endings, because life is full of way too many unhappy ones.
