After rereading this for like the hundredth time, I still found Darker to be the best book of the trilogy. This is where the romantic connection and explosive chemistry were most prominent. Christian and Ana overcome more and more hurdles in their relationship, including trust, family, and past lovers.

I really liked the book, I really did. But I just have to mention that Ana saying “Oh my” and her inner goddess are really unnecessary. Much, much better details could’ve been added instead of that. Plot-wise, this book is fucking amazing, but the writing style I’m not a big fan of.

But anyway, YAY. In this book, it’s waaay more intense and after the cliffy in the first book, this book just comes as a true joy. Christian Grey is the love of my life.

Honestly Ana pissed me off a lot in this book. Although some of her issues were rational, some others were just so selfish and dumb. I was just like, “What the fuck is wrong with you?”

Anyway, I’d rather talk about Christian Grey (cue the screaming fangirls) He is the ultimate man. Like really, if there was a perfect man, it’d be him. Aside from his fear of being touched, Christian is a man who would do anything for a woman he loves. I just… GOD I LOVE HIM SO MUCH

“This is me, Ana. All of me… and I’m all yours. What do I have to do to make you realize that? To make you see that I want you any way I can get you. That I love you.”

He is mercurial, as I would describe him in Ana’s terms. He’s hot one second, cold the next. He can be super sweet then turn into a raging beast.

“I don’t know whether to worship at your feet or spank the living shit out of you.”

God, when he kind of cracked that one time in the book, I cried. I CRIED READING THAT SCENE AND IT WASN’T EVEN SAD. Imagining Christian who is so strong and powerful be in such a vulnerable state broke my heart completely.

This book is just so goddamn amazing I can’t. I’d love it completely if it wasn’t for the weird details and Ana being a bitch. But Christian Grey, will you marry me?

[Review] Unteachable - Leah Raeder

This novel contains graphic sexual content and strong language. It is intended for mature readers. 

I met him at a carnival, of all corny places. The summer I turned eighteen, in that chaos of neon lights and cheap thrills, I met a man so sweet, so beautiful, he seemed to come from another world. We had one night: intense, scary, real. Then I ran, like I always do. Because I didn’t want to be abandoned again.

But I couldn’t run far enough.

I knew him as Evan that night. When I walked into his classroom, he became Mr. Wilke.

My teacher.

I don’t know if what we’re doing is wrong. The rules say one thing; my heart says screw the rules. I can’t let him lose his job. And I can’t lose him.

In the movies, this would have a happy ending. I grow up. I love, I lose, I learn. And I move on. But this is life, and there’s no script. You make it up as you go along.

And you don’t pray for a happy ending. You pray for it to never end.

"It wasn't about flirting with death, like Mom. It was about wanting to live all the way to the seams of life."

Unteachable was completely indescribable. This is definitely one of the best books I've read this year. The characters were amazingly developed and described, all of them captivating and interesting in their different ways. The storyline was absolutely beautiful and deeply moving. There was this sense of darkness that kept the story going and it was brilliant. This book was fucking brilliant.

Sweet Jesus. This is just undeniably awesome. I can't even begin to describe everything. Usually when I highlight quotes in a book, each and every one of them would make it to my review. But this time, there's way too many to mention.

Let's start off with Maise O'Malley. She is possibly one of my favorite heroines of all time. She's witty, quick and downright smart as fuck. The things she says are undeniably true and deep and her vocabulary is bloody complete. She is far more mature for her age due to growing up with a drug-addicted, absent mother. She can be realistic but when it comes to Evan she becomes a romantic.

I'm not going to do the whole rollercoaster/falling in love metaphor. I didn't fall in love with him up there. Maybe I fell in love with the idea of love, but I'm a teenage girl.

This is where she's so damn smart. I know how hard it is to tell the difference between actually falling in love and falling in love with the idea of love. The fact that she acknowledges this just shows how smart she is. She doesn't automatically say, "Oh shit, I think I'm in love after one goddamn rollercoaster ride." with the cheesy metaphor and shit.

God, and you know how some people just think that they're adults? They think that they're so damn mature. I love how she knows that she doesn't know how to answer life's questions – hell nobody does. But she admits that. And Jesus, I just admire that so much.

"I can't be the girl who teaches you how to open your heart and embrace life and all that bullshit, because I'm trying to figure out how to do that myself."

I think I'm in love with her. Honestly, she's just so smart and perceptive of this fucked-up world and she knows all these facts and she accepts all these things.

I was still a teenager, and part of being a teenager was constantly checking your answer against everyone else's. What did you get for number four? Is falling in love with someone twice your age gross, weird, amazing, or all of the above? The secrecy insulated me in a vacuum-sealed bubble.

Who fixes broken people? Is it only other broken people, ones who've already been ruined? And do we need to be fixed? It was the messiness and hurt in our pasts that drove us, and that same hurt connected us at a subdermal level, the kind of scars written so deeply in your cells that you can't even see them anymore, only recognize them in someone else.

I really don't fucking know how she is an 18 year-old girl.

And God, when asked whether or not she was in love with him?

"I don't think I know what being in love is yet. But this is different than anything I've ever felt. […] Remember when you thought I was jumping off to kill myself? It's like that. But no one catches you. You're just hanging over infinity."

Wow, I spent that much time talking about one character. See how much I love her?

And then all the other characters. Sweet Jesus Christ Lord Almighty, they were all so freaking perfect it's unbelievable. 

Evan was the sweetest, despite some of his too sappy, cheesy lines. But he was just so thoughtful and so considerate of her, I wanted to hug him to pieces. And Wesley and his mom ugh. CHRIST, I LOVE WESLEY'S MOM OKAY. SIOBHAN IS THE BEST.

"My consolation is embarrassing my children in front of their friends. THat's why the oldest went to college on the other side of the country."

Siobhan: "Biotechnology."Wesley: "The Terminator."Siobhan: "It probably involves a certain amount of naked men." 

Siobhan taught them not to break curfew by waiting for them in the dark kitchen one night in a white gown, holding a chef's knife.

HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE HER?!?!

But really, this book was so amazing. I have no words to describe it. If I could give it a million stars, I would.

[Review] Beautiful Broken Rules - Kimberly Lauren

You know when I start a review with a gif means I'm gonna love it. This book turned me into such an emotional, sobbing mess. I was on the bus touring Europe while I read this and I was blubbering like a baby. It was that fucking good.

I kind of miss reading the normal romances. Lately, I've been reading books with way too complicated plots, even though they were awesome plot twists, but it's nice taking a more chill kind of book.

Beautiful Broken Rules surprised me. I really wasn't expecting that much. Honestly, the cover didn't look too convincing that it'd be a great book but I was proven wrong. Thank God. This book was hilarious, sweet, funny, exciting, saddening, depressing, angering, EVERYTHING!

It's kind of refreshing, not because I approve of it, but because for the first time ever, it's the girl protagonist that's the player. Em was the school slut. She slept around but she had three rules she always kept in mind.

1. Never sleep with someone that a friend has feelings for

2. Never sleep with someone who is in a known relationship

3. Never sleep with someone more than three times

I like how she knew exactly who she was. She wasn't weak, she's a tough chica who's been through hell and back. She admits that she enjoys sex and having fun. She doesn't try to cover up who she is. She's not the whiney girl, which is the type of girl I absofuckinglutely hate. 

But her incapability to commit initially caused problems for them both. After she slept with him, she was in denial; she kept refusing to believe that she was actually starting to have feelings for Jaxon. She didn't want to, of course. She's been hurt before and she didn't want to go back to having another void in her heart. And Jax gets so frustrated by this.

Damn it, Emerson, just stop! Stop pretending you don't care. Why won't you let me in? Why won't you let me care about you. Because for some maddening reason, I do!"

Holy shit or what?

I really really like how, instead of calling her Em like everybody else does,  he calls her Emerson. It's so freaking adorable.

But when they broke up?

I was praying the whole time, "Jesus, have mercy on this clusterfuck." I was bawling like crazy, hoping that they'd make up because if they broke up again? I would be like, FUCK FUCK FUCKETY FUCK. Excuse my cursing.

Okay, let's not go there. You can "enjoy" the breakup yourself.

JAXON RILEY. HOLY SHITTTTT. He is one of the most smoking, charming, hot-ass, hilarious, fucking amazing guy I've ever come across. I want a Jaxon Riley when I get a boyfriend. Yes, puh-lease. He's so freaking hot and he has a damn motorcycle!!! His "hand" written messages are so unbelievably adorable. He's adorable. And possessive ;)

Jaxon: "[slams fist] Cole you better call it."

Cole: "Alright, let's put the poor bastard out of his misery. Going once… going twice… Sold! To the very possessive Jaxon Riley."

Sweet Jesus. This man is so adorable when he's jealous that I just want to eat him up.

And when he first meets her, this is what he was thinking:

I've been calling you mine. Before I'd gotten to know you, I knew I had to make you mine. It only got worse the closer we got. When Cole carried you away from me that day, I realized you weren't mine at all. I. AM. YOURS." - Jaxon

I could talk about their relationship for a whole damn day so I won't do that. Instead, I'll talk about Cole, Quinn and Jace. Cole is the cutest cutie there is. I definitely want a guy best friend like Cole. He's so considerate, thoughtful and protective.

I'll make sure you never get within fifty feet of her if you hurt her again." - Cole

And then Quinn is the bestest girl friend Em could ever ask for

Jace: "He asked about you. If you were okay."

Quinn: "Yeah, and I told him to shove his concern up his ass. I'm not going to tell him anything about you."

AND JACE!!!

Why didn't you tell me there was a smoking hot carbon copy of you?" - Emerson

But Jace is just perfect okay. He's a guy best friend I'd love to have to.

[Review] Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire

MY BABY IS BACK, BITCHES! Do you know how excited I was when I heard that it was released early?

Man, that's a creepy gif but that summed up how I felt. My God, I was freaking ecstatic! I read this book months back when it was released so bear with me if I miss any details. All I know is:

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!

Jamie McGuire gives us an inside look into Travis' head during his pursuit of Abby. Through Abby's eyes, we can see how much he's changed for her and how he's gone from the major player to the whipped (in a good way!) lover. Here, we go deeper into Travis' character as we see scenes that weren't in Beautiful Disaster.

So, we probably think that: "Hey, Trav loves that lifestyle! The booze, the women, the money." But then.

"Fucking vultures. They could wait you out for hours."

The first few paragraphs of the first chapter blew my mind. They were so brilliantly written with the perfect extended metaphors and symbols. Travis' mindset is just wow.

"What they don't know, what they've never anticipated, is that the prey is faking. It's the vultures that are easy. Just when they think all they have to do is be patient, to sit back and wait for you to expire, that's when you hit them. That's when you bring in the secret weapon: an utter lack of respect for the status quo; a refusal to give in to the order of things."

The last phrase. A+++! An utter lack of respect for the status quo; a refusal to give in to the other of things. Jesus, when a guy says that, you know we've got a bad boy in our hands. But damn, Travis. He's got a way with words. It's so simple yet it's such a strong phrase.

And, what I didn't get in Beautiful Disaster, was why didn't Abby ask about her nickname? So I was beyond happy when Jamie answered my unspoken question here.

"I decided a long time ago I would feed on the vultures until a dove came along. A pigeon. The kind of soul that didn't impede on anyone; just walked around worrying about its own business, trying to get through life without pulling everyone else down with its own needs and selfish habits."

HOT DAMN. And that isn't even the full paragraph. These quotes are only from the first chapter. I just fell head-over-heels in love with this book.

With this being in Travis' point of view, we learn more about his past. We learn about his mother and her last words. We also get the talks between Travis and Mr. Maddox that we didn't in BD. Their relationship is sort of, EXTREMELY ADORABLE.

Travis: "There's a girl, Dad."

Mr. Maddox: "[smiled] A girl."

Travis: "She kinda hates me, and I kinda…"

Mr. Maddox: "Love her?"

Travis: "I don't know. I don't think so. I mean… how do you know?"

Mr. Maddox: "When you're talking about her with your old dad because you don't know what else to do."

Jim is just perfect. God, I love how we get more on Travis' family in this book so we see how his past was like.

But I'm not going to go on and on about this. I just really damn love this book. You will too! Trust me. I think it's better than the first one hehe.

Plus! You've got an extended epilogue; there's more in this one than in the first one.

[Review] Beautiful Disaster - Jamie McGuire

Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn't drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. This book, ladies and gents, was what got me into reading New Adult romances and basically all romance books! Ladies, prepare to drop your panties for the one, the only, TRAVIS MADDOX! I will go on a long rant about him later below. God, I absolutely loved every single character in the book. They were all just so perfect. Plus, Jamie McGuire's writing style is very easy to understand and to read. That's why I completely love it. After reading Fifty Shades, I was recommended by the dependable goodreads to try out Beautiful Disaster. And I thank God every day that I did.

Abby Abernathy is a snarky girl who's hiding her "alter ego". Let's just say she has another side to her that she hopes will stay buried underneath. But, in the book, she's the good girl who almost everyone wants in EU. Including the unattainable Travis Maddox. But really, Abby is just so feisty. Kudos to you, girl!

"Don't flatter yourself. It's hard not to notice when fifty drunks are chanting your name."

She's just one of my favorite heroines ever because she doesn't take shit from anyone. But, at times, she can piss me off when she tries to be all noble and more of a goody two-shoes. Because that's really not who she was. And the fact that she tries so hard to let go of her identity back home, she's hurting Travis along the way. Even Shep agrees:

"You're going to break his heart, Abby. You're going to break his heart! The one girl he trusts enough to fall for, and you're going to nail him to the wall!"

Now let's move on the smoking hot, Travis "Mad Dog" Maddox! God, he made me fall for so many other fictional characters so thank you very much, Travis! He is the most romantic guy ever. If you read his lines in the book, you can't help but just fall in love with him over and over again. Travis doesn't think he's worthy of anyone's love and that's why he does the things he does. It's just so heart-breaking to see this great guy thinking he's so worthless.

"I feel like any second you're going to figure out what a piece of shit I am and leave me."

There are so many sides to Travis Maddox. There's the scary jealous side.

"If you even look at her you piece of shit I'll break your fuckin' jaw!"

And then there's the oh-so-sweet, desperate side.

"I am begging you. I'm begging you, Abby. Don't do this."

FINALLY, THERE'S THE OH-GOD-TO-DIE-FOR SO FREAKING ROMANTIC AND SWEET SIDE.

"I know we're fucked up, alright? I'm impulsive, and hot tempered, and you get under my skin like no one else. You act like you hate me one minute, and then need me the next. I never get anything right, and I don't deserve you...but I fucking love you, Abby. i love you more than I loved anyone or anything ever. When you're around, I don't need booze, or money, or the fighting, or the one-night stands."

This is just one of my most FAVORITE BOOKS EVER. It definitely makes it to the top ten list if I even had a top ten list. But really, even the supporting characters like America, Shepley, Finch are perfection. You have to go read this book.

[Review] Ten Tiny Breaths - K.A. Tucker

WOW WOW WOW. Basically, I read this book so long ago but it's just so freaking perfect. I loved every single one of the characters. Kacey with her traumatizing past which shaped her into the person she became. And Trent, who's such a lovable asshole, who seems so strong yet is broken deep inside. The plot was pretty normal but K.A. Tucker formed and created a story that was so heart-warming and emotional. A definite, must-freaking-read.

At first I was only...

by the end I was like...

KACEY OH GOD KACEY. I just absolutely love love loveeee this woman. She's undeniably hilarious, smoking hot and feisty.

"For two years, I haven't given anyone the time of day. Now, here I am, day one into our new life, and I'm ready to straddle this guy on the washer."

All her lines are basically hilarious but that's not the only side to Kacey. We see how she's bottled up all her emotions and nightmares inside of her. It's almost ready to explode. She keeps things to herself and she tries to be strong for Livie, everyone around her and, of course, herself. She pretends as if she's going to be fine even though she's channeling all her rage and feelings in a wrong way. As I quote her, she's "seven layers of fucked up with a side of bullshit." But then comes along Trent. And she goes:

"I think I'm going to fall in love with this man."

Kacey's not the only character with deep, life-altering issues. Trent is just the sweetest. He's a man on a mission. He is on a mission for Kacey.

"I'll make you whole again, Kacey. I promise you, I will."

Trent cares so much for Kacey. He's pledged to make her whole. He's promised to fix her. He's vowed to make her happy. At first, Trent is basically just the hot male that exists in every book. But as we delve deeper into his character, we realize that there's more to him that meets the eye (and that's my cliché line of the day!). But he's coping. He's coping like Kacey but in a different way. He has the most romantic and sweetest words.

"I want to make you smile. For real. Always. We're going to go for dinners, and see movies, and walk on the beach. We'll go hang-gliding, or bungee jumping, or whatever you want to do. Whatever makes you smile and laugh more. Let me make you smile."

HOW DO YOU NOT SWOON WITH THIS MAN?!

OHMYGOD! So I read this book like a really long time ago. But I'm still head-over-heels and absolutely obsessed with it. You would be too if you knew Patch ;) But oh God I just read this book again and I realized how much I really missed it! This is definitely one of my most favorite fantasy series ever. It's about a hot fallen angel and an average girl as they get involved in not only hot chemistry but even the war between an immortal and the fallen.

No matter how many times I read this book (and this is probably like the twentieth time), I still fall in love with Patch over and over again. Really. Patch is definitely makes it to my top five book boyfriends. He's the whole definition of tall, dark and handsome. He's mysterious, sexy as fuck and he just basically makes you want to jump his bones. God, really though. And his damn sexual innuendos will drive you over the edge. I laughed and giggled like a kid on Christmas morning.

OHMYGOD AND NORA GREY. Those legs unf bb unf. She's my kind of woman (hope that doesn't sound too creepy). But really, she's smoking in her own way and she's tough. I love her character. As Patch described her, she's "attractive. intelligent. vulnerable". God, I fucking (pardon my French) loved her character in the book. She's noble and loyal and ugh, everything.
