With a smoking hot cover and an even better synopsis, comes a novel with such intensity. The story of two young lovers fighting to be together while at the same time fighting off those who keep them apart: family, friends and, basically, the world. Although I must say it was quite a disappointment to what I expected, it was still an okay read.
GOOOOD!!! I was so excited to dive into this novel, y'know? I mean come on, Ace Waterman is fuh-reaking hot. He is sweet and a hard-worker. He's strong in many ways. But his background is a complete opposite to Reese's who was born to a wealthy world filled with grandeur.
It's like Romeo and Juliet. Modernized.
Jesus. Okay, let me just get started.
The book starts off fast by jumping quickly into Reese's plan to nail Ace that summer. However, the way the book starts already kind of pissed me off. We could've gotten a background on what they were like when they were kids. What happened between them. Etc, etc. But, seeing all this, it all seemed more like lust to me rather than love. HELLOOOO, she wants to fuck him. That's what she wanted.
I really wished that I could like Reese but unfortunately she was an idiot. Dude, you've been having dinner and whatever the fuck you've been doing with Warren for how fucking long. How do you not think that you guys are dating? Now, that's just plain stupid. Reese here reminds me of Reese Witherspoon as Cecily in Importance of Being Earnest. Christ.
The only motivator I had to finish this book was Ace. Ace was *sigh* He was so sweet and he was such a great guy in general. He was patient with Reese. He had to deal with seeing Reese everywhere with Warren. He had to put up with Reese keeping him a dirty little secret (that bitch!). And he put up with all of that because he loved her. And I could see that.
The plot itself was actually pretty good, it was just… I was hoping they'd develop the story more and give us a bit of insight to what happened before.
