Although in all honesty I was not impressed with this book, the storyline was quite engaging in the end. At first, I thought that it was the typical love-because-of-hot-sex kind of thing, but in the end, Colden did make me adore his character. Dusty was also pretty damn cool with her independence and her toughness.
I really, really wished that this book hooked me in but it didn't do me much.
Yes, the characters were fantastic. I loved their independence, their love for each other, but I didn't like how their chemistry and romance were all so rushed. I wanted them to take their time and actually get to know each other. Especially, when the Saint left six years ago, he just fucked her and then disappeared. Not cool, bro, not cool.
When Colden challenged Dusty into that mechanical bull ride, I was really hoping that Dusty would win. What is up with the double standard? It's always the man winning these things. I know that it was essential in the story but I was hoping since Colden was so smooth with his words, he can manipulate Dusty instead of winning the thing when Dusty held the record.
Just doesn't seem that likely.
Anyways, I liked Colden though. Despite his southern accent, which I didn't find that endearing, he was that alpha male type. Mm-mm, and I love me some domineering males.
Who the fuck is this Travis guy…and why the hell does he think he can touch what's mine?Gotta admit, this scene was hilarious. A little, tiny, affectionate gesture and BOOM! He reacts. That was funny.
Dusty is pretty cool too. She owns this restaurant/bar on her own. She makes her own living. She's sweet but tough. My kind of woman.
Overall, pretty okay read. If you're the reader who loves some Southerners, you're gonna love this!
