BLOG TOUR: Favorite Places – Kelly Gendron + Review & giveaway!

Released: December 10th, 2013

A five-minute trolley ride, one troublemaking luggage, and two stolen identities. Six months later, two strangers discover they’re married. She wants an annulment. He has other plans.

Being illegally hitched is about the only way Chase Lennox would ever be shackled to any woman. But when the multimillionaire playboy finds out he’s married to the woman who caused him to lose the biggest deal of his life, Chase decides before he gives his new wife an annulment, she’s going to help him close the deal he’d lost.

Jessina Landi has a three-foot radius comfort zone. The last man she let into it cost her a lot more than a broken heart. And the huge debt she owes for that trust, well, it’s due. If she takes Chase Lennox's up on his offer, it’s sure to cover the bill.

There’s an annulment waiting at the end of their rainbow… well, that’s if they can get through the next two weeks without consummating the marriage.

"Truth is… I wanted it all to be real. I wanted you to be mine, and not because of some deal, for the money, or so you could get your damn inheritance."

OHMYGOD!!! This book. I shit myself reading it. It was hilarious as fuck, sweet as candy cane and, not to mention, covered with angst! The characters were just bloody brilliant and the complications were all logical. The storyline? Don't get me started. A truly wonderful read!

Really, I honestly didn't expect that much from this book from the beginning. I read the first novel and, unfortunately, I wasn't that impressed. But that was probably because I wasn't into the whole country talk thing. Holy crap, this book though? Blew me away.

I loved it! I absolutely loved every bit of it. There was only one thing that weirded me out, which was that Chase insisted that she say: "Oh my… Chase!" instead of "Oh my God." I just found that really… weird.

But, otherwise, FREAKING PERFECT!

Chase Lennox is a stubborn as hell and uncommitted man. He is successful, hard-working and he actually has his reasons for being the asshole he was. However, he finally found his match in Jessina Landi. Equally as stubborn and equally as frustrating.

He is arrogant and annoying (to Jess at least!) but he also has his sweet side to him, which you will find if you read the book.

“If you don’t come with me, I’m not signing anything. Till death do us part, honey.” He smirked, daring her to challenge him.
Defeat wafted across her face, leaving track marks in her scowl. “You bast—“
“Now, now, Jess.” He grinned, pleased that he had won this round. “Nice, dear. Remember, we’re striving for nice.”

As you can see, he can be frustrating for her but fucking hilarious for us.

But Jess isn't any different. She's determined and strong. She has such a beautiful heart, despite some of her choices of vocabulary in describing Chase. I loved her character so much. She was very likable for me. Hell, lovable even.

“First, do you know who I am?”
“Yes. You’re the egoistical asshole I’m illegally married to!”
Gotta love a woman with the snarkiness in her. I love when heroines are tough and sassy. But not stupid. And Jess is definitely not stupid.

Oh, not to forget, THE GUY FUCKS UP!!! Can I get a hell yeah? I love it when this happens. I would recommend this for any romance lover ;)

MY RATING:

4 AND A HALF APPLES!!!!!

Kelly resides in a quiet suburb somewhere between Buffalo and Niagara Falls, NY. Her day job? Kelly works in health care representing a group of nursing facilities in the WNY area. She’s been faithfully writing for three years but did write her first book ten years ago. She put it down to raise her son as a single mom and then picked it back up when she and her son finally grew up. That's when she settled into her newly married adult life and started to seriously write again. She's dabbled with Romantic Suspense stories, but recently she's been on a contemporary kick. The recipe for the men in her stories: a dash of bad boy attitude, a cup of strong and confident and, of course, besides being packed with magnificent bodies, and doused with shameless aptitudes, they must have a tender heart you want to rip out of the pages (or your e-Reader) and take to bed with you at night.
