BLOG TOUR: Beautiful Surrender – Priscilla West + Review & giveaway!

Released: November 4th, 2013

“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”

The conclusion to the Surrender Series by Priscilla West.
No one is who they seem to be.

Kristen let Vincent into her heart because he seemed so different from everyone in her conservative world of wealth management. She thought they shared something special, but when she realizes that Vincent has been playing her the entire time, her heart is crushed.

As Kristen’s relationship with Vincent reaches a crisis point, a man from Kristen’s past returns looking for a second chance. Is her ex-boyfriend really looking for redemption or is his goal something more sinister?
Kristen struggles to hold herself together, until she discovers a revelation that will change everything.

"If we make it through this together, we'll be stronger. If we make it through this alone, we'll just be better at being alone."

Excellent finale to an excellent series! The Surrender series hooked me in from the beginning through its exquisite characters and of course the suspenseful, angsty, romantic storyline. I'd definitely recommend it for you fast-paced romance lovers out there.

Vincent just gets sweeter and sweeter throughout every book. He is just wlkerjwlkejr I want to kiss and hug him to pieces. I'd jump his bones if he was real.

HE JUST SAYS THESE CUTE LINES I JUST AWLERKJWKER
"You're more than a concern. You're a part of my life."
How do you not swoon at that man?

Kristen is well, Kristen. Same old, same old. I was hoping for a change in her character. Just a teensy development but she didn't change at all, which kind of disappointed me but I was happy she didn't turn into those damsels in distress.

OH AND ONE MORE QUOTE I LOOOVE FROM VINCENT:
"I mean truly love you. Not obsession. Not lust. Not selfish possession. Not some kind of blind idealism. Not some sick, twisted version of love – but the real thing. One with eyes open. One with respect. One that never underestimates hardships to its existence, never takes the other person for granted. The only kind of love there really is."
I died. I really died with that.

That just saved the whole damn book. I loved the book in general and I would definitely recommend you readers to try it out ;)

  • That one cliché that every book has.

BLOG TOUR: Secret Surrender – Priscilla West + Review & giveaway!

Released: October 1st, 2013

“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”

I knew that giving in to Vincent Sorenson was a risk, but it was one I was willing to take. I had hidden my heart for so long and for the first time in a long time, Vincent was close to breaking down the walls.

When a trip to Vincent’s exclusive private island reveals the real Vincent underneath the layers of suave nonchalance, I thought we were close to the start of something special.

Just when things were looking up for us, I would discover the one secret that Vincent never intended for me to find.

"Even if I'm not perfect, I want to make this work, and I tend to get what I want when I put my mind to it."

The second novel in the Surrender series was surprisingly just as likable as the first one. The admires were fantastic and the plot itself was awesome. And don't even get me started on the sex. Super A+!

Kristen is still the same dedicated, intelligent woman I saw in the first book. That was what made me admire her so much. She was the kind of woman who could be tough on the outside, all business, but then she can also have a more feminine side with a man.

Vincent is sexy as hell. I like how his character seemed to like Kristen as much as she liked him. Usually in books, it looks as if the girl likes the guy too much or vice versa. The fact that they seem like they are equally in love with each other just makes it all the better.

Kristen is worried initially that he wasn't that into her.
"How could he go from having passionate sex to being all business so quickly?"
But, of course, Vincent being Vincent manages to convince her that he does really care about her.
The sex was definitely upped in this book. It was much more intimate and sexy, because the two were into each other so much.

AND THE CLIFFY ON THE END. I HAD A HEART ATTACK. When I realized I had a copy of the third book, I was so damn relieved.

BOOK TOUR: Forbidden Surrender - Priscilla West + REVIEW, GIVEAWAY AND EXCERPT!

Released: July 23rd, 2013

"What gives you a thrill Kristen?"

The minute I saw Vincent Sorenson, I knew he was trouble. Billionaire. Bad boy. And dangerously sexy. He was everything I craved, and nothing I needed.

Unfortunately, I just couldn't avoid him. The higher ups at my company decided they needed his business, and I was on the team to bring him in. Vincent Sorenson didn't seem as interested in business as he was in me, but I knew that was a door better left unopened. If I got involved with him, it would only unearth the pain I spent years trying to bury.

I thought I had it under control, but I seriously underestimated Vincent's seductive charm and silver-tongue. I would soon find out how delicious it would feel to let myself fall into this forbidden surrender.

"You either feel safe with someone or you don't. It doesn't matter how long you've been together."
OH MY GOD!!! I loved it! I abso-freaking-lutely looooved it! The book was a quick read though I could see how the relationship developed and how the characters had their own personality (if they didn't, it would've been so bland).

Okay, so let's start this review with the first time they met. Kristen and Richard, her boss, are trying to convince Vincent to sign in to their company and Richard's totally messing this whole thing up because he thought that Vincent would be an overly-obsessed, buff, idiotic surfer. Richard thought up all all those surf lingos and shit, and did it work? HELL NO. Vincent was insulted. But then when Kristen was bringing some papers over to him, she fell. RIGHT ON HIM. HAHAHAH. That was definitely one of the best moments in the book.
"Curiosity overriding logic, my fingers pinched one of the rings through his shirt. I've never met a guy who had nipple piercings before."
I was just like:

SHE PINCHED HIS NIPPLE RINGS.

Oh my God. I can't breathe.

And he never. I repeat, never let her live this down.

And then basically, Kristen blew me away. She was this intelligent and independent woman. Since I'm almost a complete feminist, I'm totally rooting for her. She was stubborn at first because she didn't want to risk her job, but anyways, it's Vincent. You don't say no to Vincent Sorenson. But I liked her character and I rarely ever like the heroines in books.

VINCENT SORENSON. Now, that is a man I want to keep around in my bed.

When he met her the second time:
"Consider it a test. How far are you willing to go to serve my interests?"
If that wasn't an innuendo, I don't know what is.

AND HE COOKS. Holy shit, I'm a total sucker for men who cook. I mean, how hot is that?
"I'm taking you to the best restaurant in the city – my kitchen. Tonight's an opportunity to impress you with my culinary skills."
Boy, did he ever. And that wasn't the only skill she was impressed with.

Overall, a fantastic romantic read! I absolutely loved it and since it ended in half a cliffhanger, I'm definitely looking forward to the next book.

Minor Faults:
  • A bit too fast? Just a teensy bit. But then remember Vincent's quote in the beginning.

EXCERPT:

“Mistake?” His brows furrowed.

“I wasn’t thinking clearly and you took advantage of it. We can still move on and pretend like it never happened, or I can transfer you to Richard—” My nails dug into the palms of my hands.

He let out a frustrated breath, shaking his head. “I’m not working with anyone else but you. I thought that was settled.”

“Look, I admitted I’m attracted to you, but we shouldn’t have acted on it. You’re a client for Christ’s sake. You caught me off guard and I was confused.” I tried to make it sound as convincing as I could, but he didn’t look like he was buying.

He stooped to pick up the paperwork and my work bag. As he walked over to me, I scrambled to my feet. My heels felt wobbly, and I took a step back, worried he was going to kiss me again.

He eyed me darkly, “Are you sleeping with anyone?”

He just wasn’t going to give up. “No, but I don’t—”

“Then there was no mistake. Stop apologizing, and stop denying what happened. We both wanted it.” His brows narrowed, his gaze was intense. It was clear we were both exasperated, but for very different reasons. “If you still think you’re confused, I’ll make you a bet: before this week is done, you’ll be touching yourself while thinking about me.”
