Fucking speechless. Richelle Mead has rendered me abso-freaking-lutely speechless. And, honestly, this doesn't happen a lot with YA books. I'm only usually like

BUT DAMN! Richelle Mead created a book that's better than the first one (if that was even freaking possible since Vampire Academy was so bloody flawless). I actually finished this on the same day I finished the first novel. Holy shit, right? It was that good! The fights, the problems, the smoking hot chemistry! Not to mention the fact that Mead introduced another hot character, Adrian Ivashkov who might or might not be my favorite character ever!

Rose is somehow better in Frosbite than in the previous novel. She's somewhat less of a bitch and she's much more cautious now (courtesy of Dimitri). But, of course, I love how she remained as a snarky girl with smartass comments. She's so fabulously sassy!

Thank you, Ryan Higa. Now, about Lissa, she's still the same girl as she was. She's the type of girl who wears her heart on her sleeve and she's just so considerate of everyone around her. I love that about her. Her emotions and feelings are always so intense that she ends up doing a lot of impulsive things to protect the ones she loves.

And Dimitri *deep, dreamy sigh* ooh Dimitri.

"The other problem in my life is Dimitri. He's the one who killed Natalie, and he's a total badass. He's also pretty good-looking. Okay–more than good-looking. He's hot–like, the kind of hot that makes you stop walking on the street and get hit by traffic."

He's still the same old, same old closed-off guy. But when he smiles and how his personality's changed with Rose *grins like an idiot* those things will probably, sort of melt you like an ice cube on a burning stove. He's still strict and he knows his limits, but, still, he's just hot. I really like how they can joke around with each other and alkerljawlerj too adorable!

Rose: "You know what would help?"

Dimitri: "Hmm?"

Rose: "If you turned off his crap music and put on something that came out after the Berlin Wall went down."

Dimitri: "[laughs] Your worst class is history, yet somehow, you know everything about Eastern Europe." 

Rose: "Hey, gotta have material for my jokes, Comrade."

They are so easy around each other despite the fact that he's her mentor. Their relationship is just to. die. for. I squeal every time they have a cute little scene together.

And then comes Adrian Ivashkov. MY GOD THIS MAN COULD MAKE ALL THE WOMEN SWOON AND FAINT. He gets along so easily with Rose with their banters. His arrogance, his cockiness *swoons* I love his character so damn much.

Adrian: "Not into older guys, huh?"

Rose: "You're imagining things. Clearly, my stunning beauty has clouded your mind."

It's so cute how they're so easy around each other. I can't ship them together because Rose/Dimitri is already my number one otp in this series. BUT AGHH, he's always flirting with Rose!

Adrian: "That's pretty hot."

 Rose: "Punching me in the eye?"

Adrian: "Well, no. Of course not. I meant that the idea of getting rough with you is hot. I'm a big fan of full-contact sports."

I can't take all these feelings.

But then the ending! MY GOD. I THINK I WEPT TWO OCEANS AND THREE RIVERS WITH A LAKE. I'm not going to spoil it but fawlekrwlekjr fuck fuckety clusterfuck of all clusterfucks (pardon my Greek and French). Read it. Just read it.

[Review] The Prince - Tiffany Reisz

Well, fuck, fuck, fuckety fuck. I dived into this book expecting not much actually. In all honesty, the summary sounded pretty average. I thought that Nora would probably suffer from living in the south because she couldn't fit in and bla bla bla. But man, did Tiffany Reisz prove. me. the. hell. wrong. I've learned my lesson to never expect anything from Miss Reisz because she always does the unexpected. By the end of the book, I was just:

This book was such a complete mindfuck. The story was so twisted and weaved so intricately that you could barely see anything coming. It was beautifully written and seductively sexy as hell at the same time. The characters are, as always, so well-thought and developed thoroughly.

The novel had two parts. The South and the North, so I shall begin to talk about them separately. This is going to be a pretty long review, so if you want the shorter version, you can check out my GR one here.

North: Here, we get a glimpse – scratch that, not a glimpse, but the whole fucking picture – of how Kingsley and Søren met. I never imagined them together in the first two books. I thought they were just connected through the Underground but man, they sure as hell weren't.

This part was also divided into two parts, their pasts and their present. The past gave us an insight and more ideas as to how their relationship started. More about Søren and his days as a student as well as Kingsley as the notorious player and an infatuation for the most-feared-student in Saint Ignatius. At times, Kingsley is still Kingsley

"I would miss my sins and they would miss me."

I loved how we finally delved into the Kingsley Edge's mind. We learn things from his perspective since it was written in third person but it was omniscient. We learn about his feelings, about how it all started with Søren.

I was like that most of the time. And then there's the present. Someone's going after Søren's associates. Everyone related to Søren and it's terrifying as hell. Søren who usually knows what's going on – since he seems to be a fucking mind-reader – doesn't know what's going on then. 

But I love love love how Tiffany Reisz kept Søren's thoughts as a mystery. We read it from Kingsley's, Nora's or Wes' point of views but never Søren's. Because that's just it! We will never ever know what this man is thinking. He's such an intriguing and complex character that I admire him more and more in every book.

South: Like I mentioned in the beginning, I was expecting really little from this section of the book. But, man, it was so freaking complicated!

I mean, Nora plunged into Wes' world, clearly not prepared for the grandeur and all the wealth. She was shocked by how "royal" the Raileys actually were but she acted with the normal Nora manner, treating it as something simple.

And Wesley, oh God, sweet Wesley:

"Because you'll go back to him. And I'll be alone again. And if I don't have my hate, what will I have?"

LET ME HUG YOU BOY.

Don't have that much to say about this section since it focused mostly on Nora and Wes' relationship and how hard it was for her to handle Wes' strong feelings towards her. Nora's only known one love before: Søren's. She knows that she loves both Søren and Wes but she wasn't prepared for the hurricane of Wes' feelings.

Most of the time I was just like:

Especially when Nora told Wes about the time she purposely fell and Søren was there.

Nora: "He told me to pick a number between one and one hundred. It's a game we play. Pick a number but you don't know what you're picking. Are you picking one lash or hundred lashes? Are you picking one kiss or one hundred kisses? I picked one hundred. He started to count the one hundred different things he loved about me."

I fell in love with Søren right then. I just dived head first into love with him. Because, Jesus Christ, this man knew when she needed what she needed. This man knew Nora like no one ever did.

Overall: It was just this giant mind-blowing, mindfucking, clusterfuck-filled, sexy as hell twisted tale. Tiffany Reisz continues to prove to me that she is such a genius with her words – always blowing me away with her work. Not only is this book erotic and sexy, it was thoughtful and well-written as well as thoroughly elaborated. The mystery and the suspense is definitely a plus!

Definitely loved how she alternated between the south and the north and, at the end of every section, she'd finish it off with a mini cliffhanger. It just builds up the suspense and our anticipation for the next scenes. It keeps the story cycling and keeps our curiosity rolling.

[Review] Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire

MY BABY IS BACK, BITCHES! Do you know how excited I was when I heard that it was released early?

Man, that's a creepy gif but that summed up how I felt. My God, I was freaking ecstatic! I read this book months back when it was released so bear with me if I miss any details. All I know is:

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!

Jamie McGuire gives us an inside look into Travis' head during his pursuit of Abby. Through Abby's eyes, we can see how much he's changed for her and how he's gone from the major player to the whipped (in a good way!) lover. Here, we go deeper into Travis' character as we see scenes that weren't in Beautiful Disaster.

So, we probably think that: "Hey, Trav loves that lifestyle! The booze, the women, the money." But then.

"Fucking vultures. They could wait you out for hours."

The first few paragraphs of the first chapter blew my mind. They were so brilliantly written with the perfect extended metaphors and symbols. Travis' mindset is just wow.

"What they don't know, what they've never anticipated, is that the prey is faking. It's the vultures that are easy. Just when they think all they have to do is be patient, to sit back and wait for you to expire, that's when you hit them. That's when you bring in the secret weapon: an utter lack of respect for the status quo; a refusal to give in to the order of things."

The last phrase. A+++! An utter lack of respect for the status quo; a refusal to give in to the other of things. Jesus, when a guy says that, you know we've got a bad boy in our hands. But damn, Travis. He's got a way with words. It's so simple yet it's such a strong phrase.

And, what I didn't get in Beautiful Disaster, was why didn't Abby ask about her nickname? So I was beyond happy when Jamie answered my unspoken question here.

"I decided a long time ago I would feed on the vultures until a dove came along. A pigeon. The kind of soul that didn't impede on anyone; just walked around worrying about its own business, trying to get through life without pulling everyone else down with its own needs and selfish habits."

HOT DAMN. And that isn't even the full paragraph. These quotes are only from the first chapter. I just fell head-over-heels in love with this book.

With this being in Travis' point of view, we learn more about his past. We learn about his mother and her last words. We also get the talks between Travis and Mr. Maddox that we didn't in BD. Their relationship is sort of, EXTREMELY ADORABLE.

Travis: "There's a girl, Dad."

Mr. Maddox: "[smiled] A girl."

Travis: "She kinda hates me, and I kinda…"

Mr. Maddox: "Love her?"

Travis: "I don't know. I don't think so. I mean… how do you know?"

Mr. Maddox: "When you're talking about her with your old dad because you don't know what else to do."

Jim is just perfect. God, I love how we get more on Travis' family in this book so we see how his past was like.

But I'm not going to go on and on about this. I just really damn love this book. You will too! Trust me. I think it's better than the first one hehe.

Plus! You've got an extended epilogue; there's more in this one than in the first one.

My Comments:

Kendall Ryan's recent releases didn't blow me away like her Hard to Love did. That book was just so fucking hilarious and heart-warming. But I haven't given up hope that maybe this book might be better than her previous ones! I'm definitely lowering my expectations but, man, I want a book like that again.

[Review] Left Drowning - Jessica Park

Intense and emotional. A story not only about the connection and relationship between two broken people, but also about loyalty and trust. How the past can fully well affect our future. It's about moving on and letting go. It's about having to pull yourself out of rocky waters to avoid drowning everyone else along with you. Not only about saving the people around you but also about finding yourself.

"So I have spent four years without touch and affection and without wanting any. But now there is Christopher Shepherd, the boy who changed all the rules."  

Jessica Park has blew me away once again. FUCK! I mean, really, who can write such beautiful books? Flat-Out Love was absolutely ah-may-zing! I freaking loved it. And now there's Left Drowning. This book just grabbed me by the shirt, tore me to pieces and threw me to the flames. Wow, that sounded brutal but it's true. My God, I cried so many times reading this book.

This book was honestly draining me emotionally. It was so fucking intense and tiring. All the drama and all the problems. Jesus. But that's what made it so damn good. I've never read another book as intense as this one. Nada. Zero. Zilch. But after I read this, even though I was so empty in a way, I also felt a sense of freedom. And I think that's exactly how Blythe felt with Chris. She was exhausted and just so drained with having to deal with him but he set her free. He had set her free from the moment he met her. No, it wasn't the cheesy love at first sight kind of thing but it was the kind of relationship that changed you. The kind of connection that bounds you together as if it was by fate.

It began really slowly as the author set an easy, relaxing pace. They meet, they became friends. Blythe meets the whole Shepherd clan. The whole family is so freaking perfect. I love the whole Shepherd family.

"I am hit with the enormity of the impact that this family is having in my life. They, and mostly Chris, are saving me. Or teaching me to save myself."

The whole damn family saved her. It wasn't only Chris, which shows that the novel didn't merely focus on their romance. It shows how the greatest group of people can pull you out of the waters and onto the land.

It started with Sabin when he stole Blythe's coffee one morning. God, Sabin is just this giant ball of energy. He is so damn hyper all the freaking time. He's enthusiastic, exciting and hilarious as fuck! He's probably my favorite Shepherd. Blythe wasn't only close to one of the Shepherds, but she loved all of them. This I really loved. Sabin was her safe haven. Her sanctuary. Her rock. She went to him whenever she's upset or angry.

"I feel grateful, though, that Sabin was my home base tonight. He let me come back to him as often as I needed to ground myself. When the noise was too much or the social interaction felt overwhelming, he remained my rock."

And then Estelle. This girl is just awesome. Freaking Neon Jesus. She's absolutely lovely and hilarious, just like the whole Shepherd clan. Although she is usually so honest, she gives out a certain mysterious aura, especially when she keeps leaving at night to meet God-knows-who.

Eric. Eric is just so adorable. Him and Zach are the cutest. The fact that Blythe and Eric can hang out – and it's just the two of them – is perfect. I'm glad that it isn't awkward between Blythe and the other family members to hang out together. It shows how they have REAL friendship instead of bonding through Chris.

And then there's Chris.

*really deep, long sigh*

I had mixed feelings about his character. At times, I want to just pull him into a huge hug and thank God for his existence. Other times, I want to smack him on the head with a baseball bat and scream out: "GET A GRIP AND PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS!" Because this was actually him most of the time:

Chris is so focused on teaching Blythe how to survive that he becomes blind to his own situation. He doesn't realized how his family trauma has created such an impact on him.

That's the whole family. Although they have this outgoing, fun, exciting exterior, they are slowly breaking apart on the inside. You realize that once Sabin starts to get drunk and reveal his truthful thoughts. My heart was aching the whole time for this family because they went through so much shit in life and the fact that no one – not one single damn person – was there to save them fucking sucked. 

The way the whole story unravels and comes together is fucking brilliant. CLAPS FOR JESSICA PARK. Because this woman is a story writing genius. The clusterfuck is all over this book and you can see it through the characters, but when we come to the ending/conclusion, it all makes sense and every issue is resolved.

P.S. The sex was bloody-motherfucking HOT! It was sexy and intense and my God, Jessica Park sure as hell can write a sex scene. Wait, scratch that, sex scenes. 

"This book is for everyone who has survived. You are not broken. You can love and be loved, despite what may feel like the eternally brutal nature of the world. Even when you're drowning and so far under, this is always time to reach for someone who will teach you how to breathe again."

[Review] Lick - Kylie Scott

*shrieks to the heavens above* I am fangirling over the characters in this book like cuh-razy! The plot itself was unique and special *winks* I mean, when you imagine yourself waking up with a massive hangover, with a super hot guy next to you and a giant ass diamond ring on your finger. Man, oh man. It's like a super "oh holy shit" moment. And that was exactly it for Evelyn! She had blanked out on the night of her birthday thanks to tons of drinks. Being married to, as I quote, "rock and roll's favorite son", is a killer wake up call.

The book was easy to read and very fun! A lot of hot sex plus the sarcastic comments and witty remarks. This book pretty much blew me away. Well, I wasn't expecting that much from it except for the fact that almost everyone gave it such good ratings. But the romance! The sex! The cute little moments! UGH!

I've liked Evelyn's character from the start because she's not afraid to speak her mind. I guess that was what attracted David to her in the first place. She's a tough cookie and God, I just absolutely love her character! And she's so adorably awkward! Just look at this:

David: "What's the plan here, Ev? How were you going to convince me?" 

Evelyn: "Oh. Well, I was um… I was going to seduce you, I guess. And see what happened. Yeah…"

My God. I just want to pack her up in a suitcase and take her home with me. But Evelyn is the type of girl who has everything all planned out in front of her. With her dad already "brainwashing" her into thinking that it's her idea that she wants to be an architect, she wants everything in life by the guidebook. David's appearance in her life threw her for a loop. Especially when she didn't remember anything about that lovely little night.

David is a variable that she can't control in her life and so she's afraid of him. Afraid of the things that might happen with him. Afraid of the things that might not happen with him.

"You asked me this morning in the car if I thought you were scary. The answer is yes. You scare me shitless. I don't know what I'm doing here. But I hate the thought of leaving you."

I liked how Evelyn's character handled things. She was pretty much almost calm throughout the whole thing, aside from the slight panic in the beginning. But otherwise, I really liked her character. It's weird because sometimes I'd feel annoyed with the heroines in books. But not this one.

And then there's David *le super deep dreamy sigh while drooling* David Ferris has now made it to my top list of book boyfriends because… wow. Not only is he smoking hot, but he's also a hopeless, desperate romantic too. He can seem like an eager kid at times but there's also those moments where you just want to pull him into a hug.

He's a musician who hasn't written anything in two years. Two. Freaking. Years. Because he lost his music mojo. But now that Ev's in his life. His inspiration's back because he now has a new muse. My God.

David: "I wrote two songs."

Evelyn: "Mmm. That's nice."

David: "No, you don't understand. I haven't written anything in over tow years. This is fucking amazing. And they're about you."

As if having a rockstar for a boyfriend isn't good enough, he had to go and write songs about her. How can you not fall in love with this man? And when he's at his lowest. When he's insecure. SWEET MAMA. I just want to hug him to pieces!

"Ev, you're sad, you're tired, and you've lost weight, and I fucking hate that I'm the cause of it. I'm going to make this right with you one step at a time. Just… give me a little room to maneuver here."

He's so cute all the fucking time and I just alwekrjawlkejr

Evelyn: "Why don't you go back to LA?"

David: "My wife lives in Portland."

*silent shrieking* It may not seem like much by quotes but when you read the book, you will fall in love with David "please fuck me" Ferris. He's also funny ;) especially when he's interacting with Mal, it's just the cutest bromance ever,

David: "Close the door down there and lock it. Don't you come up here under any circumstances. Not till I tell you it's okay. Understood?"

[pause] Mal: "What if there's a fire?"

David: "Burn."

Mal: "Fuck you." 

And I felt so bad for his character since he remembered everything about that night but Evelyn remembers nothing. It's all a pitch-black memory for her. But still, I swoon at David.

Hehehe. I just really like this book even though it was pretty fast-paced. The relationship began with a rocky start, but then, as it developed and evolved, you find out that they're best friends but they're also dating! Which is the most adorable kind of relationship to me.

They did the whole thing backwards. Hell, they got freaking married before they dated. The book was hilarious and an easy, fun read. Plus, the characters were just awesome. Including Lauren, Mal and Nate. I love Mal so much, you will too. Trust me.
