[Review] Entwined With You - Sylvia Day

Released: June 14th, 2013

From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something that I couldn't resist. I saw how damaged and how dangerous he was on the inside - how it was so much like my own. I was drawn to him and I needed him like I needed my own heart to beat.

No one knows what he did. How much he risked for me. How much I'd been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadows of our pasts would become.

Entwined by our secrets we try to defy the odds. We made our own rules and surrendered completely to the exquisite power of possession...

HOLY MAMA! This book blew me away all the way to Africa (I'm in Asia so)! Honestly, I just think that this is definitely the best book out of the three. Oh my God, everything was just so fucking perfect. The book was so emotional and heart-wrenching, but it managed to be so freaking sexy and hot at the same time, with just a touch of humor in it.

Gideon motherfucking Cross. I apologize for cursing so much but - bloody hell - if I was Eva, I'd keep that man locked up in a room and never let him out. I won't even regret it. He's a sweet and romantic sex machine who knows how to show a girl a good time. I completely fell in love with Gideon here because I think everyone could see the more vulnerable side to him and seeing how deep his love was for Eva just tore me apart.

Eva was the same as always. She was feisty and hot, independent and strong as hell. I loved that about her. I freaking loved how she wasn't so dependent on Gideon or his wealth, which showed how she had her own "thing" going on too, instead of just being the mogul's girl.

MY RATING:

4 AND A HALF APPLES!!!!!

About The Author:

[Review] One Tiny Lie - K.A. Tucker

Released: June 14th, 2013

Livie has always been the stable one of the two Cleary sisters. She handled her parents' tragic death and Kacey's self-destructive phase like a full-grown adult. But underneath that facade, is a little girl hanging onto the last words her father ever spoke to her. "Make me proud," he had said. She promised she would and that was exactly what she did over the past seven years.

Livie walks into Princeton with a solid plan to rock her classes, prepare herself for med school and get a good, respectable guy that she's going to someday marry. What isn't part of her plan are Jell-O shots, a lovable, party animal roommate, and Ashton, the gorgeous captain of the men's rowing team. He's an arrogant ass who makes Livie's usually non-existent temper flare and everything she doesn't want in a guy. Worse, he's best friends and roommates with Connor, who happens to fit Livie's criteria perfectly. So why can't she stop thinking about Ashton?

As Livie finds herself facing mediocre grades and dreams she no longer thinks she can handle, plus her feelings for Ashton that just won't go away, she's forced to let go of her last promise to her father and find out who she truly is.

OH. MY. GOD!!!! I honestly think that this book was probably just the slightest bit better than the first one. I loved how complex the characters were in this book. The plot line was intriguing and the romance was plainly drop-dead-amazing. I think that it was titled One Tiny Lie because in a way, the main characters were somehow lying to themselves about who they are and who they want to be. But I don't know, that's just a thought. The book was so freaking hilarious but also comforting and deep, at the same time it was romantic and emotional. It was just the perfect mixture of everything I look for in a book. I was telling myself this while reading:

Livie Cleary is one of the most amazing women I've found in books. We see how grown up she really is after her parents' accident and how she has to be the responsible one. She's got this planned mindset and that her whole life has been set in a certain way since she was a kid. Then BAM! in comes the ambush from Kacey, Dr. Stayner and Ashton. She - who once had her life all planned in a pretty, little guidebook - is thrown by the contrast of what she expects and the reality of it.

And then there's Ashton. He's another interesting character with much more to him than what he lets people see. He's the average player who sleeps around a lot and is basically a cocky bastard 24/7. But when Livie realizes that he's mysterious and actually quiet, she becomes more concerned about him and what his life actually is. And ugh, honestly he's one of the crudest, hottest, cockiest and aerlkjwaestewr-est guys I've ever read about. But the complexity of his personality just draws us in. He's basically like this throughout almost the whole book:

MY RATING:

5 UGHH-I'M-IN-LOVE APPLES!!!!!

[Review] The Girl in 6E - Alessandra Torre

Released: April 17th, 2013

I screw men for money. Not literally. It's more of a - how do you describe it? Think of phone sex operator with a 15 megapixel webcam thrown in. They tell me their deepest, darkest fantasies while paying me $6.99 a minute to fulfill them. At least virtually.

What would possess me to do such a thing? Throw in a tortured past, murderous urges that existed 24/7, and the desire to keep the innocent people of my small town safe.

I was contained, out of the way, sexcamming to earn my living. Until he came along. He was a twisted client armed with a target's name. Annie. And in that name everything changed.

This book was honestly extremely interesting and different. It's not the typical plot you see everyday. To sum it up, basically, it was creepy as fuck, sexy as hell and downright intriguing. The book was dark in a way, I mean there's the mysterious he who's a complete creep. It was absolutely sexy because Jessica Reilly, or Deanna, is well, she's a sexcam operator. She's hot and feisty. Intriguing, because, well the plot was definitely different. I couldn't really stop reading.

Jessica Reilly aka Deanna is an independent and fucking confusing character. I really didn't understand what was happening until she explained it. She's beautiful, sexy, intelligent and somehow also considerate. In her own way. She basically has these urges for blood. But she prevents them by locking herself up in her own room in 6E. I really like how concerned she was about the creep, as in she thought that he was like a complete a-hole. Definitely one of my favorite heroines.

Then there's the string of varying webcam clients. They come in all shapes and sizes, with different fetishes, cravings and fantasies. Some were weird but I liked most of them. There's also Jeremy, the tenacious but damn straight smoking hot delivery guy who seems to have taken a peculiar interest towards her. He's too cute!

MY RATING:

4 FREAKING APPLES!!!

[Review] Beauty From Surrender - Georgia Cates

Released: May 30th, 2013

After Laurelyn Prescott walks away from the love of her life in Australia, she returns to Nashville to pursue the dream she's always had and hopefully always will. Determined to distract herself from the pain of losing Jack Henry, she immerses herself in her music. But when she comes back to her old life, her previous problems - and even new ones - comes. When she refuses her record producer's unbelievable requests, she finds herself without a career - until an unforeseen opportunity surfaces. From there, she climbs her way to the top where she might finally find the success she's always dreamed of. But will it be enough to bring her the happiness she deserves?

Jack Henry McLachlan never expected himself to fall in love with Laurelyn Prescott. But he did. After he let her slip through his fingers, he spends the three months miserably searching for her. But their reunion doesn't come easy. The woman he finds isn't the same one who drifted away without a goodbye. She was no longer an insecure amateur. This Laurelyn is a successful woman with a promising career. Her dreams are becoming a reality and he's terrified to lose his American girl because she won't have a place for him in her heart. With only one month to convince her otherwise, will he be able to persuade her to welcome him back into her life?

This book was awesome. It was honestly heart-wrenching, sexy as hell! and also so sweet and romantic. Beauty From Surrender is the sequel of the way-too-great book Beauty From Pain. I loved loved loved the first book and I thought this one was great too, but the first book was better. I found this book just the slightest bit disappointing but her characters and writing style totally made up for it.

Guys - well, mostly girls - you will swoon and faint with how romantic Jack is here. He was just absolutely adorable. He's so sweet and caring towards Laurelyn. He thinks of everything and he's just ugh too damn sweet. He's like candy canes on Christmas morning and chocolate eggs during Easter.  I understood why he did some of the things he did because that was how it was realistically supposed to happen. That's how we expect real people to react.

Unfortunately, I liked Laurelyn a little less here. She was this extremely hot, tough chick in the first book. She was insecure at the same time but she wasn't that vulnerable, which I absolutely loved. But here, I thought that she was just the slightest bit too whiny and irrational. I thought that she could've been more understanding and patient.

MY RATING:

4 SMEXY APPLES!!! with Jack Henry if you'd like ;)

[Review] Tangled - Emma Chase

Released: May 20th, 2013

Drew Evans is the combo of handsome, arrogant, sexy as fuck, and persuasive. The whole desirable-but-should-be-avoided package. He makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York's most beautiful women with just a smile. So why was he currently trapped inside in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

Everyone says he has the flu. Heck, he says that. But we all know how that's not really true.

Katherine Brooks is the female version of Drew. She's got the brains and the beauty. She refuses to let anything or anyone prevent her from achieving her success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew's father's investment banking firm, every aspect of the good-looking playboy's life is thrown off course. She brings on competition he's never faced before, not to mention the fact that he's turned on by this.

Then, just when Drew has everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able to untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

This is one of those books that, once I finished it, I kind of go "HOLY SHIT, THIS WAS MOTHERFUCKING AMAZING!" And I kind of did. This book made me laugh, cry and scream. Because Drew freaking Evans. The book was hilarious and witty, it was romantic and steamy, but it also had its emotional aspects. Tangled was written in the guy's point of view and I found that extremely refreshing. It's as if we're delving into the mind of a real man. Emma Chase knows a man's head in-and-out and we get that sense from how Drew thinks in the story. Basically, this book was freaking fantabulous. YOU should totally read it!

UGH DREW EVANS I LOVE YOU TO DEATH OKAY. You can't help but love a book where the guy messes up and spends his time trying to make it up to the heroine. And Drew, God, DREW! (That's what women yell when they're in his bed too!) He's dreamy, successful, stubborn and intelligent. The fact that he was good at what he did was what made me cave. I love going through Drew's head as he goes through his sexcapades but also when he falls in love for the very first time. It's all very touching, hilarious and just sexy all in one hot bundle.

Well, ehem. Kate is just Kate. I'm just messing with you. I FREAKING LOVED KATE. She was just feisty and hot. She knows how to stand up to Drew's arrogant-jackass attitude. She's tough and smart. She doesn't take shit from any guy and she knows exactly what she wants. She's definitely one of my top favorite heroines in books. Go Kate!

5 HILARIOUS AND SMEXY APPLES!!!
