[Review] Blindfolded Innocence - Alessandra Torre

Released: May 19th, 2013

Brad De Luca is incorrigible. The premier divorce attorney in town, he is a forty-year old walking hunk of sex, bedding half the town, including his own clients. Brad is used to getting whatever, and whomever, he wants, and when the newest intern arrives – Julia Campbell, a pre-law student fresh off a failed engagement – he embraces the challenge. Only, happy in her new independence, the last thing Julia wants, or needs, is an older man who could destroy her job prospects, and possibly her innocence.

Julia is confident in her sexuality, and her effect on men. But she is far out of her league. Before she knows it, Brad is stretching her boundaries and opening up a forbidden world of sensual and sexual exploration.

"Both people need to care deeply about the other person; to put the others' needs before their own, and to make a daily commitment to that person to stick it out."
Alessandra Torre blew me away again with her book, Blindfolded Innocence. The romance wasn't the only thing that wowed and melted me into a puddle, the steamy sex and the fights and the hilarious scenes were just awesome.

I really didn't expect to like this book that much. I was expecting it to be those eroticas that only focused on the sex and not the romance, but man, I was wrong. I was so prepared to give it 3 apples and I definitely changed my mind.

Looooved the characters so much! Julia is a hard-working, tough woman. She's independent and she was so ready to make a name for herself. Despite her boss' warnings to stay away from Brad, he couldn't seem to keep himself from her.

I like how Julia had her own opinions, that she defied Brad when she thought he's wrong
Brad: "After sex, his feelings haven't changed at all, and they all of a sudden have a boatload of expectations, and get their feelings hurt when nothing has changed. Women think sex is this magic act, when in fact it isn't. There are too many women ready to hand it over too easily.
Julia: "You make us out to be so… pathetic. Is that how you view women, as disposable receptacles to stick your dick into?"
Man, I freaking loved Julia cause she's one tough chica and she doesn't take shit from anyone. Especially not Brad De Luca.
"Julia Campbell."
"It's me." Brad.
I hung up the phone.

I was just like, "YOU GO GIRL! FOUR FOR YOU!"

And Brad can be unbelievably sweet when he wants to be. I mean, he took her to Vegas, even though he was such an asshole there. I actually hated him in Vegas, especially in the strip club. I was hoping that he'd mess up at some point so he can freaking beg Julia to talk to him again. AND BAM! Alessandra Torre answered my prayers. P.S. The below convo really did happen in all CAPS.
Julia: "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
Brad: "WHY WON'T YOU TALK TO ME?"
Julia: "BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU. WE AGREED TO STAY AWAY FROM EACH OTHER, REMEMBER?"
BRAD: "WHAT IF I WANT TO RENEGOTIATE THE CONTRACT?"
I was shrieking on the inside over how awesome this part was.

And then there was this one scene where Brad said this quietly:
"What if what we're looking for is each other?"

Minor Faults:
  • Slightly too fast-paced
