When Leah’s ex-boyfriend Kevin betrays her in a horrifically public way, she leaves town to spend her last summer of college in a place where no one knows who she is, what happened to her, and what she did to make herself so vulnerable.
All she wants is a little peace of mind and some good surfing so she can regroup before returning for her senior year.
After his own tragedy a few years ago, Drew developed an entirely new and unique outlook on life and became a risk-taker, daring and dangerous, everything Leah wanted to avoid.
But a chance encounter forces her to let Drew into her life, little by little, secret by secret. He’s smart, funny, persistent, hot, and makes money in a rather unconventional way.
They share a mutual fascination and attraction, until her past with Kevin complicates her present with Drew, making Leah question her future.
Just as her life seems to be spinning out of control, Leah learns that sometimes you save someone by letting them save you.
"Even though the Universe can throw your entire existence into a state of disorder without warning, it can just as easily put you right where you need to be."
Break My Fall blew me away with its unbelievably fascinating characters, all different from the next, the storyline was so well-developed, and the writing style was just fucking awesome. It's a story about finding yourself in the midst of losing who you were, of losing your comfort zone and your past life. It's about learning to live.
God, this book was just brilliant. I started in the morning and finished on the way home from school. Hot damn, this book was fucking awesome.
I loved Leah's character. She went through a lot of shit and although she's mostly closed off, she isn't too scared to share her feelings with people she trusts. She's such a strong and admirable character.
And then with Drew, alkwejrlwejkr
He's a really odd character, different from my other alpha male book boyfriends, but I love that strangeness to him. The one that keeps me and Leah guessing. He's a very interesting character.

That baby gif summed up my reaction perfectly.
Drew is just one of my favorite book boyfriends of all time. He is witty, hilarious as fuck, intelligent and he has this interesting outlook on life.
Drew: "This is the meaning of life."
Leah: "This restaurant is the meaning of life?"
Drew: "Right now, this restaurant is the meaning of life. You're the meaning of life. The crumbs on this plate are the meaning of life. The sound of this storm… that's the meaning of life."
And then he goes:
"What I mean is, life is nothing more than what's around you at any time, and what you choose your life to be."GOD! He is just so perfect. PERFECT.
"Things change. Things you have no control over. That's life. But you can control how you react to them, and that's the meaning of life. You live how you want to live."I wanted to dive into the book just to squish his face.
He's a really odd character, different from my other alpha male book boyfriends, but I love that strangeness to him. The one that keeps me and Leah guessing. He's a very interesting character.
